The Man From Saigon at ACT New Strands Festival
Thanks to a new partnership between Ma-Yi Writers Lab and ACT in San Francisco, I was able to develop my play The Man From Saigon for a week at the New Strands Festival. I got to team up with Hal Brooks again, who I last worked with on Three to Beam Up.
San Francisco has become my second theatre home, having now developed two other plays there (SOUND and RED FLAMBOYANT). I also got to come full circle with Andy Donald (Associate Artistic Director, ACT) on this play, since he was the one to encourage me to initially adapt it from a solo piece to a full length play many years ago. He then workshopped it at Naked Angels when he was the Artistic Director. Here’s the full press release. Click here for more info about the play.
