The Imaginary Association of Flight Attendants: Movement Workshop

January Movement Workshop

Just finished an intense three day workshop of my short play THE IMAGINARY ASSOCIATION OF FLIGHT ATTENDANTS.  This piece is a collection of monologues and interstitial scenes focusing on female flight attendants.  About two years ago, I made the decision to turn it into a devised piece of theatre with my trusted cohort Sherri Barber and Charise Greene.  After in informal reading at Charise’s apartment in lovely Fort Greene last summer, we realized how much we needed to see it up on its feet.  So this month we decided to pull the trigger so to speak, and produced a three day workshop, inviting a handful of performers, a dance choreographer, and fight choreographer and a sound designer/composer.  It was amazing watching these intrepid actors plunge into the material so openly and honestly, literally throwing their bodies around on the floor, and talking about their deepest personal stories.  The sheer vulnerability these actresses allowed themselves to show was nothing short of heroic.  So, please keep your eye on all of these amazing artists:

ACTORS Charise Greene, Meryl Williams, Margaret Hee, Evelyn Spahr

CHOREOGRAPHER Caitlin Bailey

SOUND DESIGNER/COMPOSER Mark Van Hare

FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHER Jacob Grigolia-Rosenbaum
