Wow, what a week I’ve had with Sadplaywright.com. I really thought it would be this small little project and instead it’s completely blown up. From all the visitors to the amazing (free) press we’ve received, sadplaywright definitely kicked off with a bang. A few days ago I sent out an email to all the sadplaywrights who’ve submitted to give them a little roundup of our first week. I’ve included the email here in case you’d like to read it:

YOU WANT STATS? WE GOT STATS
As you know we’ve been live for 9 days. And in those 9 days, we’ve had 4,352 visitors and 19,105 pageviews. Zoinks!
Visitors are coming from everywhere, not just the US, but from Hungary, UK, Russia, Australia, and Estonia (I don’t even know where that is).
We have sadplaywright submissions from as far away as Prague and Moscow. But strangely enough no British playwrights have submitted? What’s the deal with that? Surely there’s got to be sad playwrights across the pond? If you know any, tell them to submit.
The site is still under development, and I’ve been busy rolling out some additional features. There is now a “Latest News” page where you can read about, well, the latest news. You can view it here: http://sadplaywright.com/news
There is also a Contact page to let playwrights and visitors contact me for non-submission related items such as suggestions, ways to improve the site, or any technical issues concerning the site.
More submissions coming in for week 2, and we’re getting very close to hitting 100 playwrights by the end of the week. So who will be the 100th playwright? And will they win a special prize? You’ll have to visit the site to find out.
